Gotham City Impostors

Gotham City Impostors is a humorous take on the rivalry of two arch enemies, Batman and Joker.  That rivalry was shown off at PAX during a five on five demo of Fumigation.  Up until now, I didn’t know what to expect from the Gotham City Impostors in terms of gameplay, but after my first match I can safely say that it’s a hell of a fun play.

Gotham City Impostors is an upcoming first-person shooter video game set in the universe of DC Comics' Batman. Developed by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the downloadable game will be played from the perspective of two teams each trying to kill the other: one with people dressed like Batman and the other with people dressed like his archenemy, Joker. It is set to be released on Xbox Live Arcade, the PlayStation Network and Microsoft Windows,in Winter 201. While the gameplay is nothing groundbreaking, sometimes a fun, simplistic shooter is all you need.  And that is what Gotham City Impostors offers.  It offers a good time for people just looking to unleash some rage on others.  The matches are quick, the maps are small, and the gameplay is fairly simplistic.

The game will be playable by at least eight players simultaneously. The player can customize their costume, gadgets and other aspects of the game. It will feature a colorful and over-the-top visual style, including such settings as an amusement park. In addition to guns and knives, the players will be able to use other gadgets such as grappling hooks, glider wings, roller skates and explosives. The game includes both conventional guns and outlandish weapons, including a grenade fashioned like a jack-in-the-box and a rocket launcher made of PVC piping. One capture the flag-style mode of the game, called "Psychological Warfare", involves the two teams trying to bring a battery back to their base and defend it long enough for it to allow a machine to brainwash the other team.
